![]() ✌️ĭerrek: Vision represents a sea change in the twilight years of the 2010s pop-punk revival. I really enjoyed this album and it will make its way into life’s rotation for sure. For as depressing as some of the lyrics can be, due to its familiarity, it felt a bit like home. The guitar is hypnotizing and the vocals monotonous in all the right ways. The tracks seem warm and familiar with relatable content and comforting melodies. Soon, Take my Head, gave me a more of a punk-ish vibe and seems like a stand out. If my memory serves me, this band started as a punk band, so this was not what I expected. Although the content melancholy, I still found myself wanting to bathe in the experience. I am not a musician and was confused, in a way, when Dan asked me to do this BUT I am a human that loves checking out new music - old and new - to see what emotion an artist/band can evoke. Standout tracks: Take My Head and Humming.Īngela: never gets old, huh? It’s a human experience that we all have gotten a taste of, unfortunately. I’d be happy if I could write songs about being sad that are this good. The songs are short, sweet, and to the point. There’s not a wasted note, beat, or lyric. The vocals are dreamlike, and really make you feel every somber word. Even though the album is broken up into eleven tracks, it feels like one long song about love and loss. I can even hear a little “Dream to Make Believe” era Armor for Sleep in this. Maybe one of the guys from the Killers, too. Here’s what my fellow music fanatics thought about the record:ĭolan: entire album reminds me of Minus the Bear, if Minus the Bear had members of the Cure instead of one of the guys from Botch in it. ![]() Because every bad boy has their soft side. I’m also making it one of my summer goals to make out with someone to this album. And it’s because I love this record so much, that I have and will continue to give their new stuff a listen in the future. So I feel like I caught them at the perfect time. And all due respect to these talented dudes, the rest of their catalog doesn’t really grab me. They played a nine song setlist and five of those songs were off this record. I had the pleasure of catching these kids live back in 2018 at the Worcester Palladium when they toured with upcoming hardcore punk/alternative rock group, Turnstile. Easily one of the albums standout tracks: Here’s the music video for the song Humming. ![]() And I’ve shown this album to friends in the years since, and not one of them hasn’t enjoyed it. By that I mean it’s agreat album to clear your head to. With the warmer weather finally on the horizon, if you find yourself cruising solo on a lengthy drive on a day that’s warm enough to have your windows down no matter what time it is, this is a perfect record for that occasion. Which in turn, makes it a perfect and appropriate record for any time of your day or night. The hypnotic guitars and soothing harmonies were too amazing to ignore. The whole album has such a great feel and flow to it. Which isn’t an easy thing for me to find these days. ![]() ![]() And I found myself loving the record from front to back. It caught my ear right from the opening track. I was still working at Newbury Comics at the time, and a coworker tossed on the record which had just been released. But personally speaking, it was their second record, 2015’s Peripheral Vision, that remains the bands musical highlight. Since 2011 the band has released four albums, two EP’s, a batch of singles and a split with the group, Citizen. Turnover formed in 2009 in Virginia Beach, Virginia. (Left to Right) Casey Getz (Drums), Austin Getz (Vocals, Guitar, Keyboards) & Danny Dempsey (Bass) ![]()
